A Note from the Dean
Our faculty, with a deep-rooted history and an experienced yet dynamic academic staff, continues to develop its institutional vision and work toward bringing well-equipped teachers—who will train students with the skills required by the 21st century—into our country, in line with its goal of educating future teachers and meeting the expectations and qualifications demanded by our time. Inspired by our Head Teacher Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s words, *“The assurance of the future is a solid education based on strong foundations, and education depends on teachers,”* we are fully aware that in order to carry the Republic of Turkey—now over a hundred years old—into the future, teachers will remain the sole guides and leaders in illuminating the path of Turkish society through science and our national and moral values.
In this respect, our faculty aims to contribute positively and provide high-quality service to future educational perspectives and policies by producing knowledge and cultivating human capital. Having reached a point where it fulfils its potential, our faculty hosts an academic staff capable of carrying this potential into both national and international dimensions. Our faculty members, committed to academic research and constantly enhancing their expertise, continue to grow and thrive through national and international projects, publications, collaborations, conferences, symposiums, and various activities that contribute to society.
With six departments, nine active programs that admit students, and thirteen academic divisions currently operating, our faculty offers its students academic and social environments in which they can realise their potential and acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for their professional careers. Through Farabi, Erasmus, and Mevlana exchange agreements at the national and international levels, students are provided with opportunities to discover other universities both in Turkey and abroad and benefit from diverse educational experiences. Scientific, artistic, cultural, and athletic events are supported through various student clubs where students are actively engaged, allowing them to gain a wide range of skills through hands-on experience.
At the same time, our faculty offers opportunities that assist students in their career planning and enhance their professional competencies. These include options such as double major and minor programs, access to social transcripts, a rich pool of elective courses, opportunities to gain teaching experience in private schools, and collaborations with public institutions and NGOs. All departments that admit students are accredited, and in this regard, our faculty assumes a pioneering role while also achieving numerous national and international successes and projects.
On this journey, which we have undertaken intending to raise generations that are intellectually free, morally upright, and enlightened, our ongoing passion and effort to train teachers—who are open to innovation, adaptable to change, reflective, inquisitive, and internalizing national, spiritual, and universal values—persist. As a leading faculty of education in Turkey, we continue to strive toward achieving our institutional goals with unwavering determination.
